Week 25 In Israel: Judea & Samaria!
This week was different.
This week was intense.
Controversial.
Historic.
Personal.
I spent the week learning and training as a Jew living and working in Judea & Samaria! Land that is deeply debated in the world, but ancient and sacred in Jewish history.
Let’s address it directly:
Yes… controversial.
Yes… this region is constantly in the headlines.
Yes… there is tension here.
But there is also something far deeper happening on this land…
Judea & Samaria — the biblical heartland of the Jewish people. Where our ancestors walked thousands of years ago. This is where Avraham traveled. Where Yaakov dreamed. Where King David ruled. Where prophets spoke. Long before modern politics, long before international resolutions, this land was central to Jewish history, identity, and destiny.
And now I was here!
We were mainly based at Havat Havushella Farm, where we lived and worked alongside the owner and his family. Real people. Real life. Real responsibility.
I met the father (a true modern-day Jewish cowboy). Strong. Calm. Serious. He doesn’t talk much. He builds. Protects. Works. Leads his family with strength and clarity. Watching him operate was inspiring. He lives with purpose. He means business.
Their sheep aren’t just livestock… they’re strategy.
The dogs aren’t just pets… they’re guardians.
The horses aren’t for show… they patrol the hills.
Through shepherding, riding the land, and constant presence, they secure territory physically. This isn’t theoretical Zionism. This is boots-on-the-ground responsibility.
The forest around the farm has been shrinking year after year. There have been repeated attempts by Arabs to burn sections of the land. Fires spread quickly in dry brush.
So our mission this week was clear:
Remove roots.
Clear brush.
Pull out anything that could easily ignite.
Digging. Sweating. Clearing. Protecting.
It may not look glamorous… but this is how land is preserved. This is how presence is maintained. This is how security is built quietly, patiently, consistently.
When you stand on those hills and look out across Judea & Samaria… you feel something ancient. Something rooted. Something that doesn’t start in 1948… but thousands of years earlier.
For me, this week wasn’t political.
It was ancestral.
It was physical.
It was clarifying.
Being there made everything real.
The responsibility.
The history.
The tension.
The beauty.
I left inspired. Stronger. More connected.
And I’ll say it honestly… I loved it! I will for sure be back!
