Week 28 In Israel:
Walking In The Shoes of NBA Hall Of Famer, 6x NBA All-Star, 5x All-NBA, Olympian, FIBA Gold Medalist, 2003 NBA Rookie Of The Year, NBA Rookie-Sophomore Game MVP……….but most importantly, a true righteous Baal Teshuvah………the legend himself……….. Amar’e Stoudemire!

He was my favorite basketball player growing up and remains my favorite player of all time.

I got to see him play so many times in Arizona……….my first ever basketball games I went to, thanks to my dad taking me. I still remember that feeling as a kid. And even recently my dad said to me again, “My favorite Sun of all time… STAT.”

I had so many of his jerseys growing up.

So to now be in Israel, learning in the same classroom he learned in, with the same Rabbis, is honestly so cool and meaningful for me.

It’s hard to even explain that feeling.

We both came from Arizona to Israel, both searching to connect deeper……..to learn the roots of Judaism, to understand the history, the laws, and what it really means to live it. He played professional basketball here in Israel and now I’m playing professional hockey here!

Different paths……. but something very similar at the core.

After Amar’e segment in this week’s video, I go into what the real vibe of Israel feels like right now.

I show what life actually looks like on the ground………because there’s so much AI-generated stuff online and a lot of it just isn’t accurate.

But what I’m experiencing is something very different.

There’s strength here.
There’s unity.
There’s a spirit that’s hard to describe unless you’re living it.

Life continues.

People show up. People live. People support each other.

And that’s something I really wanted to capture and share.

I absolutely love it here!

There is no place I would rather be right now. I feel so grateful for this experience…….for the people, for the learning, for the growth, and even for the challenges.

I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
